What inspires one to write? For me it is an irresistible urge to assemble words together that results in the creation of imagery that I experience when I look at the world around me. I can not remember a time that I was not writing, especially poetry. To write a poem is to use the fewest words to create a glimpse into a new world or perspective.

Raw
Emotions sit upon me Gulp, gasp Spinning, sinking Inhaling each motion Float with a tide Rushing over my mind Make me still Numb, overwhelmed Movement, raw Falling into depths Dark corners Hidden thoughts Building up Breath, see Turn away...
When I did see your comment it meant a lot to me Anna - what inspired this piece was exactly what you wrote "beautiful and intense!". Yet somehow I never actually showed my appreciation by responding at the time.

Nice poem...you are swimming among words at present - one day you'll learn to fly -
