Paint Me

Too quick to judge
To see me as
The world has
Painted me upon a wall

To quick to say
This is how
The world hears me
And the words I speak

Too quick to taste
The bitterness
The world has carved me into:
Eat what you have made me

Paint me
Judge me
Say what you will say
And taste the bitterness
Burning upon your tongue.

Put me into a corner
That is the furtherest away
And watch me rebel
Taking you with me

Reaching out
I will pull down the wall
The world
Has placed around me

I will blaze
And bring this world
To its collective knees:
Watch me as I rage

Paint me
Judge me
Say what you will say
And taste the bitterness
Burning upon your tongue

Let me be
And watch with awe
As I take what you see
And turn it upside down

Don’t paint me
Into what you
Want me to be
I am me, not you

I can be many things
But I will only be
What I want:
What I paint myself to be

Paint me
Judge me
Say what you will say
And taste the sweetness
Of rebellion and delight.
