What inspires one to write? For me it is an irresistible urge to assemble words together that results in the creation of imagery that I experience when I look at the world around me. I can not remember a time that I was not writing, especially poetry. To write a poem is to use the fewest words to create a glimpse into a new world or perspective.

That is rather oxymoronic (is that a word? If it isn't it should be) but also particularly apt. It also makes you appear as a kind of shut in. But, is this a physical feeling or a reflection of mental caging? After all: "can a caged bird be taught to sing a different song?"
