Child of mine

See me
As I see you
Watching you grow

And becoming all that you can be

Holding you
When your tears fall
Helping you
To keep trying after you fall

Letting you go
When you open your arms
And declare
Look world, here I am.

Dedicated to Bronwyn and Vanessa

Hey Ally. I was thinking of your poetry the other day. You have a very strong style and I thought it would be an interesting experiment to issue you with a 'poetry challenge'; ie. give you a word or a phrase or some kind of style constraint and see what you come up with.

In the words of Mr O'Neil: 'Sometimes boundaries can paradoxically transform into freedom!'.

So what do you say? You can give me one if you like. :o) Hope your weekend is going well.

P.S. I signed up on Blogger just for you.
